Book Description

This book is devoted to impulsive differential equations and inclusions. Initial and boundary value problems for both impulsive differential equations and inclusions, as well as for each of impulsive functional differential equations or inclusions, and neutral functional differential equations, are studied. Moreover, results on impulsive semilinear ordinary and functional differential inclusions satisfying nonlocal boundary conditions are given careful attention. Positive solutions and multiple positive solutions for impulsive ordinary and functional differential equations, as well as impulsive differential inclusions satisfying periodic boundary conditions, are also studied. Some of these results are extended to functional differential equations and inclusions for operators that are nondensely defined on a Branch Scope, to impulsive hyperbolic differential inclusions, and to impulsive dynamic equations on time scales.

This book is addressed to a wide audience of specialists such as mathematicians, engineering, biologists, and physicists.

About the Authors
  • Mouffak Benchohra is Professor in Mathematics at the University of Sidi Bel Abbes, Algeria. He is the author or coauthor of more than 150 articles, and he is the coauthor of a book on controllabibility for semilinear functional differential equations and inclusions. He is on the editorial board of four international journals. His research interests include ordinary and functional differential equations and inclusions, semilinear functional differential equations and inclusions, fuzzy differential equations, and controllability. Professor Benchohra is a member of the Algerian Mathematical Society and the American Mathematical Society. He received the Master s degree (1994) from Tlemcen University and Ph.D. from Sidi Bel Abbes University.

  • Johnny Henderson is Distinguished Professor of Mathematics at Baylor University, Waco, Texas. He also has held faculty positions at Auburn University and the University of Missouri-Rolla. His published research is primarily in the areas of boundary value problems for ordinary differential equations, finite difference equations, functional differential equations and dynamic equations on time scales.

  • otiris K. Ntouyas is Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics of the University of Ioannina, Greece. He received his B.S. and Ph.D. from University of Ioannina in 1972 and 1980, respectively. His research interests include initial and boundary value problems for differential equations (ordinary, functional with deviating arguments, neutral, partial, integrodifferential, impulsive, fuzzy and stochastic), differential inclusions, inequalities, asymptotic behavior and controllability. More than 220 papers of Professor Ntouyas have appeared in print or are accepted for publication in refereed journals. He is the co-author of a book on controllabibility for semilinear functional differential equations and inclusions.
