Book Description
These are the proceedings of the Conference on Coding Theory, Cryptography, and Number Theory held at the U.S. Naval Academy during October 2526, 1998. This book concerns elementary and advanced aspects of coding theory and cryptography.
The coding theory contributions deal mostly with algebraic coding theory. Some of these papers are expository, whereas others are the result of original research. The emphasis is on geometric Goppa codes, but there is also a paper on codes arising from combinatorial constructions. There are both, historical and mathematical papers on cryptography.
Several of the contributions on cryptography describe the work done by the British and their allies during World War II to crack the German and Japanese ciphers. Some mathematical aspects of the Enigma rotor machine and more recent research on quantum cryptography are described. Moreover, there are two papers concerned with the RSA cryptosystem and related numbertheoretic issues.

Codes and Cryptography (Thomas Keith Carne)

Essential Coding Theory (Venkatesan Guruswami, et al)
This book introduces the reader to the theoretical foundations of ErrorCorrecting Codes, with an emphasis on ReedSolomon codes and their derivative codes. It describes ReedSolomon codes and various decoding algorithms.

Coding Theory: A First Course (Henk C.A. van Tilborg)
Coding Theory is concerned with successfully transmitting data through a noisy channel and correcting errors in corrupted messages. This book provides a thoroughly modern introduction to coding theory.

ErrorCorrection Coding and Decoding (Martin Tomlinson, et al)
This book discusses both the theory and practical applications of selfcorrecting data, commonly known as ErrorCorrecting Codes. The applications included demonstrate the importance of these codes in a wide range of everyday technologies.

Network Coding Theory (R. W. Yeung, et al)
This book provides a tutorial on the basic of network coding theory. It presents the material in a transparent manner without unnecessarily presenting all the results in their full generality.

Python and Coding Theory (David Joyner)
This is the lecture notes for a course on Python and coding theory designed for students who have little or no programmig experience. You will learn some of the Python computer programming language and selected topics in coding theory.

Cracking Codes with Python: Building and Breaking Ciphers
Learn how to program in Python while making and breaking ciphers algorithms used to create and send secret messages! You'll begin with simple programs for the reverse and Caesar ciphers and then work your way up to public key cryptography, etc.
