Book Description
Computer graphics is now used in various fields; for industrial, educational, medical and entertainment purposes. The aim of computer graphics is to visualize real objects and imaginary or other abstract items. In order to visualize various things, many technologies are necessary and they are mainly divided into two types in computer graphics: modeling and rendering technologies.
This book covers the most advanced technologies for both types. It also includes some visualization techniques and applications for motion blur, virtual agents and historical textiles. This book provides useful insights for researchers in computer graphics.
About the Authors- Nobuhiko Mukai received his B.E. and M.E. degrees in mechanical engineering from Osaka University in 1983 and 1985, respectively. He then joined Mitsubishi Electric Corp. and worked in the Information Technology R&D Center. In 1995, he entered Cornell University and received his M.E. degree in computer science in 1997. In 2000, he entered Osaka University and received his Ph.D degree in systems and human science in 2001. He then joined Musashi Institute of Technology as an associate professor in 2002 and has become a professor in 2007. He is currently with the department of computer science at Tokyo City University. His research interests include computer graphics, image processing, virtual reality and medical applications. He is a member of ACM, IPSJ, IEICE, VRSJ, ITE, IIEEJ, and SAS.
