If you're terrible at math and even worse with programming like me, this book is a great way to learn MATLAB/Octave in spite of that. This really is a very basic introduction. The author holds your hand. It's pretty short, about 100 pages. However, that makes the book easy to carry just about anywhere. The exercise questions are relevant to the work in the chapters.
